Dr. Aslam Ejaz is a surgical oncologist at UI Health. Dr. Ejaz specializes in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, bile duct cancer, and other gastrointestinal cancers. In addition to his clinical work, he enjoys teaching the future generation of surgeons and other cancer care providers. Dr. Ejaz believes that the ideal approach to cancer is a multidisciplinary approach that allows for an individualized and precision treatment plan for each patient, providing the best and most advanced care possible. He is a firm believer in the minimally invasive removal of cancer through the use of laparoscopy and robotic surgery, as these modalities have the potential to help patients recover faster.
Dr. Ejaz’s research interests include the development of clinical trials to help patients receive new therapies that may not be available at other centers, and he has helped develop and implement several clinical trials aimed at improving the treatment of cancer through new and innovative methods. He is also interested in researching how patients do after surgery and addressing variations in perioperative surgical care and quality improvement. Dr. Ejaz’s research is dedicated to improving cancer care, and he has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact cancer and surgical journals. At UI Health, he values the ability to collaborate with internationally recognized cancer experts in order to provide optimal, individualized precision cancer care.
