Dr. Peter Boshara practices in the Department of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep, and Allergy at UI Health. Dr. Boshara cares for patients with complex breathing problems and abnormal findings on chest imaging. Using advanced, minimally invasive procedures, he helps patients with conditions such as airway obstruction, lung cancer, lung nodules, emphysema, and pleural effusion (fluid around the lungs). 

Dr. Boshara performs bronchoscopy to look inside the airways, obtain samples or biopsies, remove blockages, and place stents to keep airways open. He places valves to help improve breathing for patients with emphysema, and also performs minimally invasive procedures such as thoracentesis, pleural catheter placement, or thoracoscopy to remove fluid around the lungs and obtain samples from within the chest.
