Behavioral Health & Substance Use Disorder Services
What is Behavioral Health?
Behavioral healthcare refers to services that address a variety of challenges related to mental health, substance use, and health or life stressors. At UI Health Mile Square Health Center, our Behavioral Health providers support anyone at risk of or currently experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder.
We work together with anyone interested in making healthy lifestyle changes, such as improving sleep quality, adjusting to a new diagnosis, managing diabetes, improving diet/exercise habits, and much more. We also treat general mental health and clinical health conditions, such as anxiety, stress, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, relationship challenges (partner and family), grief, and insomnia.
The Mile Square Behavioral Health and Primary Care team also supports patients who are interested in quitting or reducing substance use. Some common substance use disorders that we treat include opioid use disorder, tobacco use disorder, alcohol use disorder, and benzodiazepine use disorder. We provide medication-assisted recovery as part of the treatment plan and provide trauma-informed behavioral health counseling and recovery support.
MSHC works with community partners to provide substance use counseling and higher levels of care. Our goal is to support patients at any stage of change or recovery to improve access to treatment, reduce harm, and help patients live their best lives.
Behavioral health and substance use concerns can impact anyone at any age, regardless of gender, race, class, or ability.
Coordinated Care
Our team of experts at Mile Square Health Center recognizes how difficult it can seem to get the care needed, from understanding insurance coverage to finding the right provider. We strive to make it easier to access behavioral healthcare that addresses your individual situation.
Primary care providers are often the first point of access for preventing, diagnosing, and treating behavioral health concerns. At Mile Square, primary care providers remain involved in your care every step of the way. Starting at your first appointment and through long-term management, your primary care provider works closely with other behavioral health specialists to support your needs.
