Preventative Cardiology Program
The Preventive Cardiology Program at UI Health focuses on the prevention, management, and treatment of risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Our team of cardiologists, internists, dietitians, and nutritionists take a comprehensive approach to reducing the risk of heart disease. We provide risk assessments for cardiovascular disease and guidelines to help individuals be proactive with their cardiovascular health. Our team is committed to early diagnosis and intervention for heart disease risk.
Am I at Risk for Cardiovascular Disease?
The following factors may put an individual at risk for heart disease:
- Family history of heart disease, including heart attack and heart failure
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
Preventative Cardiology Services
The Preventative Cardiology Program provides a number of services to test, manage, and treat heart disease risk, including:
- Testing: Individualized cardiovascular disease risk assessments, advanced testing for markers of coronary artery disease, and genetic testing for lipid abnormalities.
- Education: We provide patients lifestyle modification techniques and behavioral changes to reduce overall cardiovascular disease risk.
- Treatments: We employ advanced imaging technologies for cardiovascular disease detection and intervention.
We work with patients to create a personalized treatment plan to improve health and wellness and promote a heart-healthy lifestyle.
