Skin tags
Skin tags are common growths on the skin that are caused by skin rubbing against the skin. Additionally, they can be caused by hormonal changes and other medical conditions. Skin tags can be removed for aesthetic reasons or if they are causing irritation. These can occur on any part of the body but are commonly seen on the neck, underarms, groin, or any area where skin rubs against skin. The Dermatology Clinic offers a variety of skin tag treatments for our patients, including removal and cryotherapy.
Surgical Dermatology Treatments
The Dermatology Clinic offers a variety of surgical dermatology treatments for our patients. We offer treatment for conditions such as skin cancer, moles, benign skin lesions and many others. Our providers are trained in the latest surgical techniques and technologies and are dedicated to providing the best possible care for our patients. Our team is providing comprehensive surgical care for high-risk transplant patients, including and not limited to Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Field Cancerization Therapies (photodynamic therapy, topical chemotherapies as monotherapies and in combination).
Acne
This is a common skin condition that can cause blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. Acne can occur at any age, but it is most common in teenagers and young adults. Actinic Keratosis
This is a common skin condition that can cause rough, scaly patches on the skin. Actinic Keratosis (AK) is caused by sun exposure and is most common in fair skin type people over the age of 50. AK may develop into skin cancer, so it is important to have it checked by a dermatologist and a significant number of squamous cell skin cancers are evolving from previously actinic keratosis. It can occur most commonly on sun exposed skin on the face, neck, hands, arms and legs. Autoimmune Blistering Disease (Pemphigus and Pemphigoid)
Autoimmune Blistering Disease (AIBD) is a group of rare skin disorders that are caused by the immune system attacking the skin. AIBD is also known as pemphigus. There are three main types of pemphigus:

- Pemphigus foliaceus
- Paraneoplastic pemphigus
- Bullous Pemphigoid
- Other Autoimmune Blistering Diseases

Hair Loss
Hair loss is a common condition that can cause thinning hair or baldness. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, illness, stress, and more. Hansen's Disease
Hansen's Disease also known as Leprosy, is a rare, chronic infection that affects the skin, nerves, and mucous membranes. It is caused by a bacteria called Mycobacterium leprae. It can impact any part of the body, but it is most commonly found in the hands and feet. Women, men, and children can get Hansen's Disease. Hereditary Tumors
Hereditary Tumors are tumors that are passed down from parents to children. They can occur in any part of the body, but they are most common in the skin, bones, and eyes. Hereditary tumors are caused by a gene mutation. Our team members are highly specialized with regard to these conditions that involve hereditary cancer, specific skin findings, and our team collaborates with a special multidisciplinary tumor board committee in the management of those patients.
Lynch Syndrome
Lynch Syndrome is also known as hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer. It is a genetic disorder that increases the risk of developing certain types of cancer, including skin cancer, which in this case is named Muir Torre Syndrome. Lynch Syndrome can also cause other health problems, including heart disease and ovarian cancer.
Familial Cancer
Familial Cancer is a term used to describe a group of cancers that are passed down from parents to children. In Dermatology, the Familial Cancer treated by a dermatologist is basal cell carcinoma. Basal cell carcinomas are the most common type of skin cancer (Basal Cell Nevus Syndrome). Moles

Transplant/Immunosuppression
Transplant patients require lifelong immunosuppression to prevent rejection of the transplanted organ. Most important, those patients are a much higher risk for developing squamous cell skin cancer, It is recommended that chronically immunosuppressed patients establish skin care before the transplant surgery and they follow with strict skin cancer surveillance.
