Mobile Health Unit
Enhancing Healthcare in Illinois
UI Health Mobile Health & Wellness Services’ mobile health unit is a 38-foot clinic on wheels, created to provide essential reproductive healthcare services in disadvantaged rural and urban areas. This initiative aims to improve female health by providing confidential, respectful, non-judgmental care in areas where healthcare is less available.
Care provided in the mobile health unit is delivered by experienced, patient-centric nurse practitioners and nurse-midwives from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing.
Our Services:
- Well-visits and regular check-ups for reproductive health for women, adolescents, non-binary and trans patients.
- Confidential testing and counseling for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Contraceptive management and information on birth control options
- Quick, reliable, point-of-care pregnancy testing
- Reproductive health education
Community Impact
UI Health Mobile Health & Wellness Services is dedicated to serving female adolescents in rural areas with low access to reproductive healthcare. The mobile health unit will also offer practicum experience to advanced practice nursing students.
This will enhance healthcare delivery while also helping to train the next generation of much-needed providers, including nurse practitioners focused on family, pediatric, or women’s health, as well as nurse-midwives.
Invite Our Mobile Clinic to Your Location
We invite community partners and physicians to collaborate with us in our mission to improve female health. Your support and participation are crucial to the success of this initiative, which aims to bring comprehensive healthcare and valuable training opportunities to the heart of our communities.
